To use your weaponsmith skills to create weapons, you must have a manual. Then you can use that manual to see which production materials you need to gather to craft the weapon you want. All weapon manuals are colored burnt orange.

To use your armorsmith skills to create armor, you must have a manual. Then you can use that manual to see which production materials you need to gather to craft the armor piece you want.
For example, let's pretend you want to craft a level 41 Domilian Shield. To start, you will need to acquire a Level 41 Shield Production Manual. All shield manuals look like little light-blue books with a shield on the front. To open the manual and see what it allows you to craft, double-click on its icon in your inventory. The Level 41 Shield Production Manual should open up the window that is on the right.
Here are the requirements for crafting the shield displayed above. When a requirement is met, its name will turn from grey to white. Once all the requirements are met, the "Confirm" button at the bottom of the manual's window will light up and allow you to attempt to craft the shield. |
The higher your level of armorsmith skills, the greater a chance you will have of being successful. It also has been said that you have a greater chance of success when crafting things that are at or below your level, but this is not confirmed.
