Hidden Seals
Hidden seals can be found on weapons and armor above level 72 and some unique accessories. Such items will have a red name and <secret properties> message in their stat window:
No matter which stats the item is supposed to have, you will receive no stat boosts from it as long as that red message is there. The item has to be identified.
Identifying seals
To identify an item you need magnifying glasses, which are sold by Scroll Trader NPC's (for example Gerel in Juno). There are two types of magnifying glasses:
Magnifying glass costs 600 000 gold, but it only has 60% chance to succeed. When identification fails, you lose the magnifying glass, but the item will not be destroyed. Golden magnifying glass costs 1 000 000 gold, but it works 100% of the time. Most players feel that it is better to buy Golden magnifying glasses because if you use a normal one and it fails you'll have to buy another and end up actually paying more.
To identify an item, double-click the magnifying glass' icon in your inventory. The following window will pop up:

The colors of the Seals
Identified items have a certain "color", which determines the possible set of seals, but also gives the item extra defense/attack. There are five available colors:
- light blue - no attack / defense bonus, maximum 3 seals
- light green - +15 attack for weapons, +4 defense for armor, maximum 4 seals
- yellow - +30 attack for weapons, +8 defense for armor, maximum 4 seals
- green - +45 attack for weapons, +12 defense for armor, maximum 5 seals
- blue - +70 attack for weapons, +19 defense for armor, maximum 6 seals
The light blue and light green items used to be the white name items in the past. Light blue seals are considered the worst, blue seals - the best.
