Horse
Horses come from Pan Flutes. They start as Ponies, but will evolve as they gain more levels. At level 16 Pony will become a Horse. Finally, at level 31 and higher, they can be trained to become a swift Knightmare mounts.

Horse SOCIAL SKILLS
Social skills have no benefit in the fight, but look pretty. They are listed in pet menu in a Commands tab and can be viewed by using P or Alt+P. To execute them, you'll have drag them to the shortcut bar.
Social skills cost no Technical Points. Your Horse gets these automatically when he levels, but you can also get them from the Animal Traine. Only unmounted Horses can use social skills.

Shaking head - Your pony gives a cute little head shake when you hit this. It's like he's showing off, just for you.
Backside kick - Makes your horse do a quick kick with its back legs. The kick is harmless, but still, be careful!
Horse crying - Did you know your horse can neigh? This is the command to make him do it! |
UNMOUNTED Horse SKILLS
There are six different passive skills your unmounted pet may learn. They will apply to your character as long as the pet is equipped and his hunger and sympathy are above 0. Please keep in mind that the sympathy indicates the percentage at which the pet's passive abilities work. The lower the sympathy, the less effective the skill. If your pet has low sympathy, you may raise it by feeding it energy.
The Technical Points (TP) spent on these skills can be reset for free by the Animal Trainer at any time you choose and as often as you like. You cannot max out all of the skills, so choose which ability is the most useful depending on the situation. For example, if you are going to be up against a lot of protective monsters you should probably invest points into physical defense. If you are going to be killing things one at a time, you can choose either physical or magical attack to kill faster.

MOUNTED Horse SKILLS
Mounted Horses learn mostly defensive buff skills. You can see the mounted pet skills at Animal Trainer, even if your pet is not a mount, but only pets level 31 or above may learn them.
Remember that once a pet is made into a mount, it will no longer gain EXP, so it cannot gain any more TP for you to spend on the desired mount skills. If you mount your pet too early and don't have enough TP, there is always the option of unmounting, but this costs quite a bit, so try to add carefully and get things right the first time around. Like unmounted pet skills, the TP spent on mounted pet skills can be reset for free by the Animal Trainer whenever you like.
Most horses are mounted at level 31, 33, 37 or 57. The best level at which to mount a horse is 37. People mount them at level 31 because it is the earliest they can be mounted and at level 33 because that is the level requirement for level 10 Offensive Hauling. However, level 31 and level 33 Knightmares cannot learn both level 10 Offensive Hauling and Defensive Hauling, their most important skills. To be able to learn level 10 of both Hauling skills your Knightmare needs 36 TP, which means they must be level 37. Some people wait until level 38 to mount so they can learn Crying. To max out both Howling skills, your Knightmare needs 56 TP, which means the horse needs to be level 57 before mounting.
It takes a total of 78 TP to max out all of a Knightmare's skills.

Passive skill - increases HP and MP of the owner while riding the Knightmare. This is considered a useless skill because you cannot attack while on your mount, so the extra HP and MP do you little good. The skill power is affected by sympathy.
