skills
Characters can learn skills to improve their attributes or to use special battle techniques and spells on themselves, on friendly parties, or on enemies. Different skills are available to each of the classes. There are few kinds of skills:
- Active Skills - skills that have to be cast directly with mouse button or a hotkey. These skills you use while fighting enemies, often in place of the normal attack.
○ Buffs - skills that increase attributes of the player for certain period of time. Buffs can be used on caster only (Self-Buff) or other players, they do not work
on the enemies.
○ Debuffs - skills that lower attributes of the enemies or deal extra damage over time.
- Passive Skills - skills that add permanent bonuses. They boost overall stats or modify skills, but are not used directly.
Skill Tree
You can check all skills available for your class on the Skill Tree. The Skill Tree can be accessed by pressing K, Alt+K or by choosing the book icon from the bar under chat window:
1. The character's class or subclass is displayed at the top left. If you have not yet learned a subclass, their skills are shown in the individual tabs.
2. Active Skill (square icon) 3. Passive Skill (round icon) 4. Skill Prerequisite - red arrow shows which skill is needed in order to learn the next one 5. The icons of skills that haven't been learnt yet are blacked out. When the requirements to learn a skill are met (level, enough SP, gold etc.), the icon will flash green. 6. Available Skill Points / Skill Points needed to max out* all remaining skills *max out = learn all available levels of the skill Note: The total skill points count is usually incorrect - if you want to know the exact numbers check your class and subclass page. 7. Available gold - shows how much gold the character is holding |
Skill power
The damage of an active skill depends on the character's physical/magical attack and in general the skill's power:
Base Attack Power + Skill Power = Damage
For example:
An archer with high plussed bow has physical attack of 10 000. She uses Deadline level 4, which has 22 000 power. The total damage of the skill is equal to: 10 000 + 22 000 = 32 000.
The true damage will, of course, be determined by the target's defense against your attack type. The attack skills of each of the subclasses seem to use a different equation, with the many of the powers representing percent multipliers instead of damage. This does not appear to hold true for all of the attack skills' powers, so no real equation can be given.
The power of buff is the increase that that buff gives the target character. The power of debuff is the decrease that is given to the target. Some of the skills have elemental attack or defense attribute. To find out more about Elemental System, please check out this page.
Important: All passive skills effects (powers, increases, decreases, etc.) shown are cumulative! If a skill says level 1 increases your physical defense by 40 points and level 2 increases it by 50 points, then if you have level 2 of that skill you're getting a total increase of 50 points, not 90 points.

Skill RangeEvery general skill has a range listed in meters. Even personal buff skills have a range, despite the fact that they only work on your character. On the right is the in-game compass with the most common ranges marked on it, just to give you an idea of how far a skill will reach.
Red = 5 meters Orange = 15 meters Yellow = 20 meters |
Skill cost
To learn a skill you need a certain amount of Skill Points. All skill tables contain information about SP needed for each skill's level and the total amount required to max out the skill. Also on the top of the page there is a note giving the total number of SP and Gold necessary to max out all of the skills on that page.
To learn some of the skills you will also need specific stat points distribution, prerequisite skill, Skill Book or special item - information on that can be found under the skill's name in Requirements.
All skill books needed for skills can be found in game:

SKILL COol Down
[OLD GUIDE COPY]
As of February 2014, Last Chaos has a brand new cooldown system for skills.
What has changed?
What does this mean?
What has changed?
- All cooldown seals are no longer percentage based but fixed values.
- Examples:
- a 10% seal is now a cooldown seal: 20
What does this mean?
- There is no more 100% cooldown, the smallest cooldown time is 0.1 seconds,
- the new cooldown is calculated by the following formula:
- y is the new cooldown
- cooldown is the cooldown with 0 cooldown
- x is the value of your total cooldown
Example
If math wasn't your favorite subject, use Cool down calculator.
- The skill has 60 seconds with 0 cooldown,
- with 100 cooldown, you calculate 60 * (150 / (150 + 100)) * (100 / (100 + 100)) = 18 seconds of cooldown,
- with 200 cooldown, you calculate 60 * (150 / (150 + 200)) * (100 / (100 + 200)) = 8.6 seconds of cooldown.
